Adventures in Snow

If you live in the midwest, you know how much snow we've been getting in the past few weeks. If you don't live in the Midwest, count your blessings! We bundled Aaron up this past Saturday and ventured out into the cold. He's loved looking out the windows at the white stuff ("Wow," he says, pointing wildly), but he did NOT like being out in it. After a few photos and plenty of tears, we quickly headed back inside. We'll try again soon when it's not as cold or windy.

Scoop and Eat

We've demonstrated hundreds of times how to get the food from your bowl to your spoon to your mouth ("Scoop and eat," we say). And until now, it just hasn't clicked with the little man. But this morning, I came downstairs and found Aaron feeding himself oatmeal (heavily supervised, of course). And lunch today continued the trend, as he polished off the cottage cheese in record time without any assistance. I can't tell you how happy I am to be relieved of spoon duty at mealtimes!

Little Fish

It was another Saturday swim for the Sharp boys, and Aaron's really getting the hang of it! Mike has taught him to "kick, kick, kick" in the pool, and now he's doing it in the tub, too. If you ask him to "kick, kick, kick," he flops onto his belly and moves his legs up and down as fast as he can. It's too cute!

The love affair with guitars continues...

Poor Mike can't play at all without someone coming by to "help." And if Aaron sees the case out, he'll cry until someone helps him unlatch it.

A Visit With Santa

Mike and I went to his company Christmas party on Friday night (pics forthcoming, hopefully). Aaron hung out with our friends the T-Reks while we were gone, and Santa paid a visit. Looks like he wasn't entirely sure of this white-bearded fellow, but I bet it won't be long before Aaron and Santa are best buds. :-)

Thanks, St. Nick!

Aaron and Mama got some tasty treats from Nt. Nick. Funny that his handwriting looks a lot like Daddy's. :-)

Puppies and Playing Guitars...

It's been a while since our last post. Truth be told, I've been so busy taking photos of other people's families, I neglected to take many (any!) of my own. So this morning when we headed to the A's house (friends from church who live very close by), I remembered to grab the camera on the way out the door. I'm sure glad I did! We went visiting with two distinct missions: first, 3/4 of the A family is heading out of town until the new year, so we wanted to squeeze in one last hug before they leave tomorrow morning. Secondly, their next door neighbor has six little puppies living at her house right now. We just had to visit!

The boys do their best to be gentle with the little pup.

More popular than the puppy was the kid sized guitar. Mr. A is a professional musician, and there are a lot of kid-friendly instruments around the house. This one was clearly Aaron's favorite! He played for a very long time, and really enjoyed himself.

I've already added this to Aaron's Amazon Wishlist. I think it would be an excellent Christmas gift. ;-)
